Ever thought you were whispering to yourself when little did you know you were just thinking OUT LOUD? Yeah those are some funny moments. I had that happen to me today.

My manager ordered me to go downstairs to Sbarro and purchase her 2 bottles of water... she gave me her debit card, of course (I ain't paying for her!!). Anyway, I went to Sbarro, grabbed 2 bottles, and went to the cashier. The scene went something like this:

cashier: $4.42.

me: cool (without really hearing what she says). Then I saw the total on the register.

me: (whispering) oh, damn!.. $2.21 for this sh*t?!

cashier: *giggle* yeah, I know.

me: oh, you heard that?!

I thought it was funny... but I guess you had to be there.

Today, at work, my manager and I finally fixed our store's window display. Oh man was the sight so horrid before the smart move. It didn't even make sense. Boots were next to flats, the UGGs were separated, sneakers were next to Birkenstocks... it was ridiculous.. but it finally changed today! Oh, and sorry for the cell phone quality.

The FHA Jackals Employee team had a game today against Nutley/Clifton team. Don't mind my harsh words but, WOW, those guys are such douchebags. One of them even grabbed Kristen's head (my manager) and threw her straight down to the ice. Just like the moves you see on Smack Down. A couple fights broke off during the game too. Man it was plain stupid. It was such a close game though. Very exciting and kept me on my skates. It was 6-5 with Nutley/Clifton ahead by 1 point on the 3rd period. It was a 4 on 4 for the last 1 minute or so because both teams had a penalty called. Seconds before the buzzer rang, the puck traveled right to Big Nick's stick and he just tipped it in nonchalantly to tie it up 6-6.

At the end of the game it was decided that there will be no overtime but a shootout instead. The shootout didn't last long. It ended up being a 1-1. It was a tie for the books.

I was doing a closing shift at David Z. today and happened to come across a really sketchy $20 bill. This lady bought a pair of our Guess heels that was on sale for %50 off it's original price. (like that wasn't cheap enough to pay with a real $20).

Long story short, once she was ready to purchase, we rang her up, told her total, and received this horribly printed counterfeit bill. My manager gives it back to the lady customer. The customer even had the NERVE to ask "what's wrong with it?" She even asked to use the counterfeit bill marker. So we did, and guess what? yeah lady IT'S FAKE! We ripped it up and threw it out. (of course I taped it back together). I swear I can't stomach stupid people.

Icepainting.

Here we go again. The continuation of last year's ice painting. This time we had to paint the rink on Nova. It was easier this time around because this rink uses cement as a base instead of the not-so-smart sand that we use on Vega. The whole process started on Monday with Hacker having to do 50 bajillion ice cuts just to get down to the cement. The painting started today and a good amount of employees came to give a helping hand... like we had a choice. Well here's some pics. If you missed out last year's Ice Painting click HERE. After all the years Floyd Hall Arena has been opened, never had they had their own in-house hockey team... I guess it's never too late to realize it. It must have been between those ice cuts and registering customers when everyone looked at the ceiling, paused, hmphed, and said, at the same time, "WHY DON'T WE MAKE A TEAM?" I'm being sarcastic, of course, but I wouldn't be surprised if i were only an inch away from that being true. Anyway, enjoy the pictures because we surely didn't enjoy the outcome of the game. =\
